KYOTO XANADU -the Blooming Phantom- Supporting Characters
Secondary cast, student stories, and optional characters in KYOTO XANADU including Kien Kobanashi arcs and friendship rewards.
Student Body & Kien Kobanashi
Beyond the main party, Hirasaka Academy hosts numerous students with individual Kien Kobanashi vignettes — short story scenes triggered at specific Kyoto and campus locations. These events grant relationship points toward friendship tokens and occasionally unlock Support Cards tied to niche class bonuses. Completing Kien Kobanashi chains is the primary path to maxing side characters without spamming unrelated dungeon runs.
Each student story touches on how Xanadu's encroachment affects ordinary academy life, adding world-building context that main plot scenes skip. Tracking which students have pending events on your minimap prevents wasted evening slots when Facility Request deadlines approach.
Faculty & Kyoto NPCs
Shrine staff at Kijaku Tenjinguu, shopkeepers in Shijo shopping districts, and research faculty at the academy Research Building all participate in request chains. Dispel Talisman merchants, gourmet tour guides, and festival organizers rotate inventory and dialogue by story chapter — revisit Kyoto after major labyrinth milestones to catch upgraded stock and new Tankasho variants.
Some NPCs only appear after clearing specific Xanadu floors or purifying certain cursed armor sets. Keep a checklist of locked locations tied to bond progress so you can backtrack efficiently instead of random street exploration.
Virtual Singer LinoN
LinoN (voiced by Hina Aoki) serves as the in-universe virtual singer whose theme "From 'i'" anchors marketing and early purchase bonus content. Support Card: LinoN enhances class Focus gains and appears in promotional bonding-adjacent scenes. Collectors pursuing completionist runs should claim the early purchase bonus before the September 2026 deadline on Asian storefronts.
Recruitment Timing
Optional fighters join through story flags and Facility Request completion — not gacha or random drops. If a character feels missing from your roster, check the Research Building and Chapel boards for prerequisites rather than grinding levels. Late recruits arrive with baseline Soul Device nodes unlocked but still require class stat investment to match your main team's Issen damage.
