KYOTO XANADU -the Blooming Phantom- Western Release Tracker
Track KYOTO XANADU Western release: publisher speculation, English localization timeline, and comparison to Tokyo Xanadu Western gap.
Current Status
Nihon Falcom confirmed a North American and European release coordinated with an unnamed publishing partner who will announce the date when finalized. As of July 2026, no Western publisher, pre-order page, or English Steam listing exists. Gematsu editor-in-chief Sal Romano stated NISA and GungHo are not the partner. Falcom president Toshihiro Kondo indicated the Xanadu line may become Falcom's third pillar alongside Trails and Ys — increasing likelihood of Western support but not guaranteeing timing.
Historical Precedent
Tokyo Xanadu reached Western Vita players roughly 21 months after Japanese launch via Aksys Games; PS4/PC eX+ followed later. Kyoto Xanadu could move faster with a modern partner pipeline, but no official window has been stated. Western players importing the Asian Steam version can play now without English UI.
Expected Localization
English text and subtitles are planned for Western SKUs; Japanese voice will likely remain default based on Falcom tradition. Aksys historically handled Tokyo Xanadu — community speculation includes Aksys, Clouded Leopard Western arm, or a new partner, but nothing is confirmed.
What Western Fans Should Do Now
Follow Nihon Falcom and Gematsu for partner reveals. Use import guides if purchasing Asian Steam or PSN versions. Bookmark this wiki for English strategy content covering Japanese UI navigation. Avoid unofficial translation patches that violate platform terms until official localization ships.
