KYOTO XANADU -the Blooming Phantom- New Game Plus & Clear Data Guide
KYOTO XANADU NG+ explained: what carries over after clearing the story, CP+5 bonus, difficulty changes, and efficient second-run completion routes.
Starting New Game Plus
After the main story ending, KYOTO XANADU offers clear-data continuation — effectively New Game Plus — without wiping progression systems. Falcom's launch-week community documentation confirms you may change difficulty when accepting carry-over, making Shurado achievement hunting on a second run practical even if your first clear stayed on Normal.
NG+ replays calendar chapters with boosted classroom CP (+5 permanently), letting you slot higher-cost Action and Support Cards during early episodes. Story cutscenes remain mandatory, but labyrinth knowledge and Guardian loadouts dramatically shorten dive times.
What Carries Over
Confirmed carry-over categories from post-launch Japanese guides include: character levels, Wisdom/Virtue/Valor Soul Levels and Soul Ranks, Academic Rank, Action Card decks, unlocked Support Cards, yen, stored Phantom Aether capacity, Shiki-rei talismans and upgrades, non-event inventory gear, Reward board progress, Gourmet Rank with restaurant stat bonuses, bonding progress and Personal Notes entries, and smartphone records (monster list, recipes, etc.). Event-key items typically reset.
- Levels & Soul Levels — party and Wisdom/Virtue/Valor ranks.
- Cards & CP+5 — decks, Support Cards, classroom CP bonus.
- Economy — yen, Phantom Aether storage, Gourmet Rank.
- Collections — Shiki-rei, gear (minus story keys), Rewards.
- Social — bonding progress, Personal Notes, phone archives.
Recommended Second-Run Goals
Use NG+ to mop up missables from the missables guide — Dark Heaven Spirit Mountain relics, bonding trophies, and Facility Request count achievements. Switch to Shurado mid-chapter outside 3D gates for rare drops without suffering the entire first playthrough on hard mode. Steam achievement hunters should enable cloud backup before chapter locks even on NG+, in case calendar mistakes waste a week.
